Thatdjentguy was sort of a culmination over the years of me loving metal and learning so many new things within music production, that I had to put it into something, somewhere. All of that came to a head in 2020 when I picked up my first 7 string guitar and dug my heels into the realm of darkness (so to speak). My first release landed in the form of a metal remix of GBR's masterful track "Legendary". After the reception on that track I set out to start working over the course of a couple years on a massively conceptual progressive metal album titled "Monolith". This project helped me tap into a significantly analytical part of my mixing and editing brain to help further my understanding and knowledge of modern music production. I hope to keep pushing the boundaries with this project and blur the lines between electronic and progressive metal with an unwavering dedication to bass drops.
After a few years of sifting through a couple pseudonyms, I decided to land on a more formative artist name that I could grow with and expand over the coming years that lent itself more flexibly to the style and approaches I was adapting in my music. Later 2015, I started planting the seeds that then grew into my main artist project known as, GVTEFOLD. Inspired my the synthesizers of the 80's, the French touch revolution that ended the 90's and the wave of modern electronic music that had swept the world in the new millennium, the project manifested itself as a cultivation of all my tastes of music into one. The mindset for GVTEFOLD is that of a more unrefined/raw sound with willingness to improvise in the moment. This project has helped me focus on the emotional vibe and musical intention of sound rather than having a more glassy, cultivated EDM concept. I want to make people dance, what more can I say.
